Cost Practical guide

How much does a website cost in Cyprus in 2026?

Price ranges for a landing page, a business website and an online store in Cyprus and Greece, from freelancers, agencies and platforms, plus running costs.

, 6 min read

Search for “how much does a website cost” and you’ll find answers from €80 to €25,000. Both are true: they’re just describing completely different things. The result is that most small business owners in Cyprus ask for three quotes, get €400, €1,800 and €4,500, and have no way of telling whether the cheap one is a trap or the expensive one is padding.

For this article we went through the published price lists and pricing guides of roughly ten agencies and studios in Cyprus and Greece, the pricing pages of the major platforms, and domain registration fees (September 2026). We don’t name anyone: the ranges are by category. At the end you’ll find our own prices too, along with what they add up to over three years.

The short answer

For a small business in Cyprus or Greece in 2026, excluding VAT:

  • Landing page (one page): roughly €300–€1,000
  • Business website, 5–10 pages: roughly €800–€2,500: freelancers using a ready-made template start lower
  • Online store: from €1,500–€3,500 for a small shop to €8,000+ for a medium or custom one
  • Yearly running cost: from ~€60 (static site) to €250–€1,100 (WordPress with maintenance)
  • Website builder: roughly €15–€40 a month: cheap at the start, not necessarily over time

What the market actually charges, by type of site

The prices professionals publish themselves, grouped:

TypeTypical rangeTimelineWhat drives the price
Landing page€300–€1,0001–2 weeksTemplate or custom design, whether copy is included
Business website (5–10 pages)€800–€2,5002–4 weeksNumber of pages, second language, depth of SEO
Larger business site (10–20+ pages)€2,000–€5,000+4–8 weeksBlog, many services, bookings, integrations
Small online store (up to ~100 products)€1,500–€3,5003–6 weeksPayment methods, shipping, filters
Medium online store (100–1,000 products)€3,500–€8,0006–12 weeksCatalogue import, ERP/courier integration
Custom store or web app€8,000–€25,000+3–6+ monthsFeatures that don’t exist off the shelf

Two things the table doesn’t show. First, a second language, almost always needed in Cyprus, adds anything from about €250 per language to 20% of the total in published price lists. Second, the copy: those who charge for it separately usually ask €30–€100 per page. If a quote doesn’t say who writes it, you probably do.

Freelancer, agency or platform?

The same type of site is priced differently depending on who builds it, and for good reasons.

Freelancers. For a standard business website, prices run roughly €300–€2,000. At the low end it’s usually a ready-made theme with your colours and text swapped in. That isn’t bad in itself, as long as you know what you’re buying and who will maintain it in two years’ time.

Small agencies and studios. This is where most quotes for small businesses land: €800–€2,500 for a business website, with design tailored to your brand and basic SEO. You’re paying for process, quality control and someone who picks up the phone.

Larger agencies. From €2,000–€5,000 and up for a business site, €5,000–€15,000+ for custom or e-commerce. It makes sense when strategy, branding and campaigns come together, less so when you need five pages and a form.

Website builders. Plans that let you use your own domain cost roughly €15–€40 a month on annual billing; more on monthly billing. Plans that accept payments start around the middle of that range.

Hosted e-commerce platforms. A basic plan is about €22–€29 a month, a mid-tier one €62–€82, and on top of that there’s a fee on every card payment: around 1.8–1.9% + €0.25 with the built-in payment system. If you use your own payment gateway, the basic plan adds another 2% per transaction. On a store doing €5,000 a month in sales, that 2% is €100 a month that never appears on the pricing page.

What you pay every year after launch

The build is paid once. These are paid for as long as the site exists:

CostYearly rangeNote
.gr / .com domain~€10–€20.gr is usually renewed every two years
.com.cy / .cy domainfrom ~€35Run by the University of Cyprus .cy Registry; prices vary by registrar
Hosting€50–€300Static sites at the low end, WordPress and online stores at the high end
Paid plugins / themes€50–€500Mostly WordPress and WooCommerce
WordPress maintenance€250–€800Updates, backups, security
Full support (changes, hours)€50–€300 a monthAnything beyond basic maintenance

So a WordPress site realistically costs €250–€1,100 a year to stay updated and secure. A static site (no database, no plugins) can cost just hosting and a domain. That difference is the main reason we recommend static for most small businesses, as we explain on our website design page.

SSL (the HTTPS padlock) is free with most providers today. If someone charges you separately for it on a simple site, ask why.

Why two quotes for “the same site” differ threefold

When you compare €600 with €1,800, you’re rarely comparing the same thing. The difference almost always hides in these:

  1. Template or design. A ready-made theme in your colours, or pages designed around your customers.
  2. Copy. Do you write it, do they “review” it, or do they write it based on what your customers search for?
  3. SEO. Anything from “we installed a plugin” to structured data, proper titles, a sitemap and speed. Increasingly it also matters whether AI search tools can read the site: see what GEO is.
  4. Mobile speed. A heavy theme with ten plugins and a lean site look the same on a quote; they differ in how many visitors stay.
  5. What happens afterwards. Is support included? For how long? Who does the updates?
  6. Ownership. Is the domain in your name? Do you get access to the hosting? Can you leave tomorrow with the code?

The cheap quote isn’t automatically bad and the expensive one isn’t automatically good. They’re simply not comparable until those six are answered.

What about VAT?

Most prices you’ll see in price lists exclude VAT. The standard rate is 19% in Cyprus and 24% in Greece, so a €1,000 site is €1,190 or €1,240 on the invoice. If you’re VAT-registered you may be able to reclaim it; that’s a question for your accountant, not for us.

Our prices, and what they cost over three years

Our packages, as listed on the website design page, excluding 19% VAT:

PackageBuild priceTimelinePlatformHosting
Landing pagefrom €4901–2 weeksAstro (static)from €120 / year
Business websitefrom €9903–4 weeksAstro (static)from €120 / year
WordPress websitefrom €1,4904–6 weeksWordPressfrom €180 / year

All of them include: the domain in your name at cost, SEO and GEO at no extra charge, and 6 months of support of up to 5 hours a month. After that, if you want, Care plans from €39 a month or €45 per hour.

Over three years, excluding the domain:

  • Business website without Care: €990 + 3 × €120 hosting = €1,350
  • Business website with Care Basic after the first 6 months: €1,350 + 30 × €39 = €2,520
  • WordPress website without Care: €1,490 + 3 × €180 hosting = €2,030

“Without Care” is a realistic scenario for a static site that doesn’t change often: there are no plugins to update. For WordPress, security updates are already part of the hosting, but content changes after the first 6 months are billed.

What we don’t do: we’re not taking on online stores from scratch at the moment. If you already run a PrestaShop store, have a look at our ready-made modules, and if you’re considering a chatbot for the store, see the AI chatbot for online stores and its pricing.

What to do before asking for quotes

Write three things on one page: what you want a visitor to do (call, book, buy), which pages you need, and what material you already have (copy, photos, logo). Send the same page to everyone, and ask for written answers to the six questions above. That’s when quotes become comparable.

If you’d like to start with us, send us that page. We reply within one business day, with a price, or with an honest opinion that something cheaper will do.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost in Cyprus in 2026?

Based on published price lists in Cyprus and Greece: a landing page runs about €300–€1,000, a 5–10 page business website about €800–€2,500, a larger business site €2,000–€5,000+, and an online store from €1,500 for a small shop to €8,000+ for a medium or custom one. Prices are usually quoted excluding VAT, and yearly running costs come on top.

How much does a website cost per year once it is built?

For a small site: a domain from about €10 a year for .gr or .com up to about €35+ for .com.cy, hosting at €50–€300 a year, and maintenance from nothing (static site) to €250–€800 a year for WordPress. If you add paid plugins or themes, budget another €50–€500 a year.

Is a website builder cheaper than hiring a professional?

In the first year, usually yes: plans that allow your own domain cost roughly €15–€40 a month on annual billing. Over three years, though, you pay €540–€1,440 without owning the code, and the time you spend on setup and copy isn't free. For a simple presence you'll build yourself it's a sensible choice; for a site that has to bring in customers from search, usually not.

Why does an online store cost so much more than a business website?

Because on top of pages it has a product catalogue, cart, payments, shipping, invoicing and often a connection to an ERP or courier. Each of those integrations is separate work, and the store needs ongoing maintenance. On hosted platforms you also pay a monthly subscription and a fee on every card payment.

What should I ask before accepting a website quote?

Five things: whether the price includes VAT, what the SEO actually covers, who writes the copy, what it costs every year after delivery (hosting, domain, maintenance, licences), and who owns the code, the domain and the accounts. If any of these lacks a written answer, the quote isn't comparable.
